It’s been quite a long time since the popular Real-Time-Strategy game, Age of Empires, has had another addition to the series. Twelve years in fact. But today Microsoft has announced that they have finished their masochistic fetish of not giving fans what they want with a trailer for Age of Empires IV:

This new entry to the series will be developed by Relic Entertainment, the team behind Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War III. Nothing else is really known about the game but you can sign up for the beta here!

Along with Age of Empires IV, Microsoft announced a remaster of the original title:

Age of Empires: Definitive Edition shows off some of its glitter including updated graphics, increase in population size, and improved AI pathfinding. Many more improvements are promised to be included in the game come October 19th, its projected release date. Remasters of the second and third games are also in the works.

Age of Empires: Definitive edition is set to release for PC on October 19th

Age of Empires IV has no release date but is set to release for PC
